Round Two Victory Goes to Aaron Gibb!

CALGARY, AB (November 14, 2008) – The 2008 Calfrac PBR Rocky Cup Canadian National Finals presented by Dickies continued for the second of three performances at Calgary’s Pengrowth Saddledome. The top 30 bull riders in the Rocky Cup standings and 10 international superstars took on some of the toughest bulls that Canada had to offer. In the end, Aaron Gibb (Hill Spring, AB) took his place in the winner’s circle after riding W.W.E. Rodeo Company’s bull, Global 8, for 87.5 points and a check for $2,534.40.
Second and third place was split by Tanner Girletz (Cereal, AB) and Kevin “Jock” Connolly (Alton Downs, Queensland, Australia) who both received scores for 86.5 points after covering their second round bulls. Girletz took on Joy Ride of W.W.E. Rodeo Company while Connolly conquered Franklin Rodeo Co.’s bull, Truly Smokin. Fourth and fifth place was also split by two cowboys---Chad Besplug (Claresholm, AB) and 2004 PBR World Champion Mike Lee (Decatur, Texas). Besplug rode the bull, Badger, owned by Fyson/Davidson Bucking Bulls), and Lee covered Longshot of Skori Bucking Bulls for 86 points each.
The 2008 Calfrac PBR Rocky Cup Canadian National Finals presented by Dickies concludes on Saturday, November 15 at Pengrowth Saddledome as the cowboys compete in round three and the short-go round. The forty bull riders will continue to take on Canada’s best bulls as they compete for the top Canadian bull riding prize---the 2008 Canadian National Champion title.

All performances begin at 7 p.m. and are a definite must-see for the true bull riding fan. Wrangler Chute Out Bonus
As the round two winner of the 2008 Calfrac PBR Rocky Cup Canadian National Finals presented by Dickies, Aaron Gibb (Hill Spring, AB) was eligible to participate in the Wrangler Chute Out bonus. Gibb took on prize bucking bull, Wrangler’s Rock Star, owned by Braithwaite & Dansey. He was unsuccessful and consequently, did not take home the $3,000 bonus check
